ENSURING EQUAL RIGHTS AND ACCESS
At FH Kufstein Tirol, we are deeply committed to making education accessible to everyone - students, applicants, and visitors alike - regardless of physical, mental, or chronic disabilities. This commitment also extends to our faculty and staff. Our goal is to create personalized learning and working environments that truly meet the unique needs of each individual.
As part of networks such as Uniability, we actively engage in sharing and learning best practices to foster a culture of diversity and inclusion.
BARRIER-FREE INFRASTRUCTURE
Special infrastructure for people with disabilities
- 6 out of 7 entrances are wheelchair-accessible
- All 4 elevators across the campus are fully accessible
- Accessible restrooms available
- Tactile guidance system throughout the building, including lecture hall signage
- Tactile building map located opposite the main info point (Stadtpark entrance)
- Portable induction loop system with microphone and headphones available for loan at the FH Kufstein Tirol info point
- Underground parking spaces available for persons with disabilities
Adapted processes for applicants/students with disabilities
- Alternative examination arrangements available during the course of study with a medical certificate from a specialist
- Personalized access chip for elevator use (Building B)
- Guide dogs permitted (exception to the house rules)

With a certified disability level of at least 50% (disability ID required), FH Kufstein Tirol grants a 50% tuition fee reduction for the duration of the program
ACCESSIBILITY FOR EVENTS
Arrival
- Public, barrier-free access is available via the Kufstein city bus (stop: Oberer Stadtplatz).
- The underground garage has two parking spaces for people with disabilities.
- The route from the accessible parking space to the elevator is level and has no thresholds. The first door is 90 cm wide and opens inward. The second door is 100 cm wide and opens inward.
- The elevator door is 92 cm wide, and the button for the Event Hall (0) is 95 cm high. The elevator measures 220 cm x 110 cm. Elevator buttons have Braille.
To the Festsaal:
- The door on the right leads to the event hall. It is 120 cm wide and opens inward with some resistance.
- There is no tactile guidance system.
To the Aula:
- The door on the left leads to the campus, via which the auditorium can be reached. The door is 130 cm wide and opens outwards.
- A tactile guidance system leads across the campus to the main entrance, through which the auditorium can be reached. There is a map of the building in Braille in the entrance area.
Festsaal
- The Festsaal is located on the ground floor and is accessible without steps. The door is 118 cm wide and opens outward.
- Seating is flexible, and the event hall offers ample space for movement.
- The room can be equipped with an inductive hearing system if needed.
- A lift for the stage can be rented if necessary. The podium is height-adjustable.
- The buffet area in the foyer is usually accessible from below.
Aula
- The Aula is located on the ground floor and is steplessly accessible. The door is a two-part electric sliding door that opens to a width of 200 cm.
- The seating is flexible and the auditorium has generous manoeuvring spaces.
- The lecture theatres can be reached via a tactile guidance system.
Toilets
Festsaal:
- The nearest accessible toilet is step-free.
- The toilet door is 90 cm wide and opens outwards.
- The room offers a clear area of 151 cm x 217 cm. There is 65 cm of space to the left of the toilet and 31 cm to the right.
- The toilet bowl is 47 cm high and is not adjustable. There are sturdy grab bars on both sides of the toilet.
- The washbasin is wheelchair accessible and the tap is fitted with a single-lever mixer.
- Soap dispensers and towels can be reached at a maximum height of 110 cm.
- There is an emergency call system.
Aula:
- The nearest accessible toilet is steplessly accessible and can be reached using a tactile guidance system.
- The toilet door has a passage width of 86 cm and opens outwards. The room offers a manoeuvring space of 135 cm x 120 cm. There is 27 cm of space to the left of the toilet and 78 cm to the right. The toilet bowl is 50 cm high. The toilet bowl is not height-adjustable. There is a stable grab rail to the left of the toilet bowl.
- The washbasin can be lowered and the tap is fitted with a single-lever mixer. Soap dispensers and towels can be reached at a maximum height of 106 cm.
- There is an emergency call system installed.

- The study and examination regulations have been amended: certified illness of children or relatives in need of care are now accepted as reasons for absence. In addition, greater flexibility has been introduced for stays abroad in order to ensure better compatibility with care responsibilities.
- As an employer, the FH Kufstein Tirol is committed to standardized leave management, integration measures for employees on leave, and the development of workplace management.
