Welcome to the Language Center of the FH Kufstein Tirol. We are pleased to introduce you to our wide range of offers to promote multilingualism and intercultural communication.

 

As a higher education institution, we attach great importance to internationality and emphasize the importance of foreign language skills and intercultural competencies in education. A sound language education not only prepares our students for stays abroad, but also strengthens their career opportunities in a globalized world economy in which multilingualism is highly relevant. Our team will be happy to support you in all language and certification matters.

RANGE OF LANGUAGES

Our students can enjoy a professional education in world languages as part of the bachelor's degree programs and/or as an extra-curricular option.

The full-time bachelor's degree program in International Business & Management includes two language modules (2x12 ECTS) in a total of two languages. All other full-time bachelor's degree programs include one language module (12 ECTS).

The competence levels at the FH Kufstein Tirol are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (GER).

  • Chinese (A1 - A2)
  • Spanish (A1 - A2)
  • Business French (B1 - B2)
  • Business Italian (B1 - B2)
  • Business Spanish (B1 - B2)
  • Business English for academic and professional purposes (B2 - C1 and C1 - C2)

  • For part-time Bachelor students

    In part-time bachelor's degree programs, the curricular offer is limited to business English for academic and professional purposes (B2 - C1+).

  • For international exchange students

    We offer courses in Englisch and Austrian culture for our incoming students.

  • Additional, extra-curricular language courses

    All our students have the opportunity to consider further languages by means of an extra-curricular additional offer. This is offered via the International Business School (link to the additional accompanying foreign language offer).

MODULE SELECTION & ASSIGNMENT

  • A1-A2:

    Foreign language 1:
    No previous knowledge of the target language and secured B2 level in English according to the English placement test

    Foreign language 2 (only International Business Studies FT):
    No previous knowledge of the target language and no language module at level A1-A2 as a foreign language 1

  • B1-B2:

    Foreign language 1:
    Gesichertes A2 Niveau in der Zielsprache und gesichertes B2 Niveau in Englisch laut Englisch Einstufungstest

    Foreign language 2 (only International Business Studies FT):
    Confirmed A2 level in the target language

  • B2-C1:

    Foreign language 1:
    Assured B1 level in English according to English placement test or recommendation of support measures: Advanced English Workshop

  • C1-C2:

    Foreign language 1:
    Assured B1 level in English according to English placement test or recommendation of support measures: Advanced English Workshop

Language modules for the full-time bachelor's degree programs at the FH Kufstein Tirol are selected using a form in which students indicate their language preferences and previous knowledge. The language modules are allocated on the basis of this information.

It is ensured that all students can prove that they have a B2 level in English or have completed corresponding language modules at the FH Kufstein Tirol.

The FH Kufstein Tirol is one of the few authorized test centers for language certificates in Austria. The International Business School of the FH Kufstein Tirol offers a range of internationally recognized certificate examinations in the field of language competence.

Die Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE) sind offizielle Zertifikate zum Nachweis spanischer Sprachkenntnisse, die das Instituto Cervantes im Namen des spanischen Ministeriums für Bildung und Berufsausbildung vergibt.
