Community

We offer numerous opportunities to meet and exchange ideas at our facility. The outdoor shared space offers a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for spontaneous conversations and new acquaintances – whether it's a picnic in the park or just a chat.

Students come together in the communal kitchen not only to cook, but also to share ideas and experiences. This is often where new friendships develop in a relaxed environment.

Our learning lounge is available for concentrated work. Equipped with modern technology, it offers peace and quiet and the ideal setting to focus on course content.

You can also find relaxation and recreation on our various roof terraces, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding area. Whether you want to take a short break between lectures or end the day with an inspiring sunset, you can recharge your batteries here.

Allocation and Payment

  • Wishes and preferences

You have the opportunity to provide all relevant data and requests, including your preferences regarding the room type – with the option of choosing alternatives.

  • Allocation of rooms

Residence spots are generally allocated without any entitlement to a specific room. We strive to meet the preferences of the residents as much as possible. If this is not feasible, we will assign you a room in the category closest to your desired one.

  • Room availability

We will always try to fulfil your request and let you know as soon as possible whether the requested room is available for the selected dates.

  • Approval conditions

Confirmation for a residence spot will be given promptly. The mandatory prerequisites are enrolling at the FH Kufstein Tirol and paying the registration fee.

  • Allocation decisions

The data in the application form is the basis for the decision on the allocation of rooms.

  • Registration fee

The registration fee of EUR 39.- is to be paid by bank transfer as part of the procedure. We will only start processing personal data after a successful payment. Applicants from abroad will have to ensure that the amount is credited in full to our account, so that we can start processing their application.

  • No refund

Please note that the registration fee will not be refunded in the event of cancellation of registration or of acceptance or refusal by the International Student Residence. The registration fee covers only the administrative costs of processing the registration and does not constitute any obligation to provide an acceptance.

  • Payment terms

The deposit and usage fee are either collected monthly via SEPA direct debit (regular students from Austria, Germany, South Tyrol) or paid in advance per semester via bank transfer (Erasmus program, IP program, and other countries).

Preparation

  • Waiting list:

If there is no room in a student residence for the semester you have requested, we will put your request on the waiting list. If there is still no room by the end of the winter semester, you can extend your waiting list registration for the following summer semester free of charge.

    Extension:

Please let us know by November 15 of the current academic year if you wish to extend your registration by email. Otherwise, your registration will be automatically deleted after one semester.

  • Open Viewings:

We warmly invite you to visit our open house tours and get to know the International Student Residence at the Open House Events of the FH Kufstein Tirol. The tours start promptly at 13:15 on the specified dates at the main entrance of House A/B. No registration is required.

To ensure the privacy of our students, viewings outside these times are unfortunately not possible. Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you in person.

Residence Guidelines

Studio furnishings

The studios are fully furnished. The furniture may not be moved or removed, and must be left in its original location.

Move-in

The move-in date is the first of the month. If available, you can move in earlier. For early move-in before the start of the contract, there is currently a fee of EUR 25.00 per day. A later move-in is also possible.

Annual contract

Rooms are generally allocated to students who have an annual contract for the first academic year (from 1 October to 15 September of the following year).

Extension

The deadline for the extension is the 28th of February (for the following academic year, starting in the autumn semester). The documents will be automatically emailed to you by ISR in January.

Changing rooms

A change of room is only possible in individual cases and must be requested in writing. A fee of EUR 50.- will be charged for a room change.

Sustainable contribution to the community

It is important to us that everyone feels comfortable in the residence and in the surrounding area. For this reason, please dispose of your rubbish properly.

Our public areas are cleaned daily (Monday to Friday). There are containers in the underground car park of buildings A, B and D and outside building C for you to dispose of your personal rubbish.

Please separate your waste into the following categories:

  • white glass/coloured glass
  • metal, plastic
  • paper
  • residual waste.

Our tip: You can leave unnecessary rubbish or packaging at the supermarket.

Cleaning and moving out

The room must be thoroughly cleaned: vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the bathroom and kitchen (or the corresponding area in the case of double studios). If the room is not cleaned properly, we reserve the right to charge additional cleaning costs. We check the rooms for damage, which is documented and deducted from the deposit.

Final cleaning

When you move out, the final cleaning fee (currently EUR 50.- for the usual amount of work) will be deducted from the deposit. If more work is required, this will be documented and also withheld from the deposit.

Withdrawal, cancellation or termination before moving in

If you withdraw from a guaranteed place in halls of residence (a contract of use signed by both parties) before moving in, the deposit and the final cleaning fee will be refunded, but a fee will be charged for the cancellation. If you cancel a place in a hall of residence before moving in, a scaled compensation will be charged:

  • More than 60 days before the start of the contract: fee for the reversal of the transaction in the amount of EUR 120.-
  • Cancellation/withdrawal 59–30 days before the start of the contract: compensation in the amount of 1 month's rent + cancellation costs according to the current price list (currently EUR 215.-)
  • Cancellation/withdrawal 29 – 1 day(s) before the start of the contract: compensation in the amount of 2 months' rent + cancellation costs according to the current price list (currently EUR 215.-)

According to the StHG, it is possible to terminate the contract (in writing) by 30 November during the academic year; the contract then ends at the end of the winter semester (cancellation costs according to the currently valid price list apply).

During the first year of study, cancellation is not otherwise possible, unless particularly worthy circumstances can be confirmed in accordance with the StHG. In this case, the notice period is 2 calendar months + cancellation costs in accordance with the currently valid price list for the early termination of the usage contract.

Cancellation during the year is not provided for. The contractual relationship ends when the contract expires.

Moving out

The date for moving out is the last day of the contract of use at 9:00. Of course, you can move out earlier. Please bear in mind, however, that the rent must continue to be paid until the end of the contract period.

External residents

If necessary, free rooms are allocated to external tenants, i.e. non-students.

The minimum stay is one month up to the end of the semester. Rental costs according to the price list for guest contracts:
including a deposit of EUR 500.- and a final cleaning fee of EUR 50.-.

Contracts for guests cannot be extended.

First come, first serve!
