Lehrinhalte

This course is expected to introduce students to the simple and basic theoretical perspectives of Entrepreneurship and applying them to develop a product in Sports Tourism. This will be achieved through familiarizing the students with the new movement and niche in sports – an emerging sector in sports, namely SPORTS TOURISM. Students will first be taken through the behavioral aspects of the Sports Tourism industry, not necessarily about numbers and strategies to increase output or market share, but to understand the behavioral undertones of Sports Tourism from definition through to conceptualization and application. This will then form the basis of designing a form of a business idea using the generic forms of product development within the realm of entrepreneurship.

A unique aspect of this course is that even though the core aspects relate to sharing knowledge in the areas of Entrepreneurship and Sports Tourism, the course will use examples and context from other parts of the world especially Africa to give the theme a global and diverse perspective.

The course will have the following aspects:
• Sports Tourism as a niche within the sports industry, its diverse nature and context.
• Basic and fundamentals of Entrepreneurship.
• Application of the fundamentals and basics of Entrepreneurship to product development in Sports Tourism.
