Students are able to
• name the essential components and institutions of a national economy and explain how they function.
• identify macroeconomic indicators such as gross domestic product or consumer price index and explain their definitions.
• conduct independent research on indicators important for economic growth and inflation and to present current developments in this regard.
• identify short- and long-term drivers of economic growth and employment
• to locate the causes of systemic instability in financial and ecological framework conditions
• to discuss the main effects of fiscal and monetary policy and to take a differentiated perspective at the consequences of public debt.
