Farewell Day: FH Kufstein Tirol says goodbye to exchange students

A special memory for exchange students.
The International Relations Office of the FH Kufstein Tirol organized a Farewell Day to bid a fitting farewell to the international students of the winter semester 2024/2025. The day offered the opportunity to look back together on the past months and to give the students a warm send-off.
The exchange students of the winter semester 2024/2025 completed their stay in Austria and at the FH Kufstein Tirol in February. For this reason, the International Relations Office (IRO) organized a Farewell Day with a varied program on January 23, 2025.
The event was attended by 60 exchange students who took the opportunity to meet up with their fellow students once more. They shared their experiences of the past few months and reflected on their time in Kufstein.
DISCOVER COMMON ground, EXPERIENCE INTERACTION
The IRO team organized a live presentation where the exchange students were able to answer questions about their experiences in Kufstein via smartphone. The answers were projected onto the wall in real time. This led to an active exchange among the participants, in which they discovered similarities. They shared how they overcame their culture shock at the beginning, what they learned about Austrian culture, and which aspects of their stay they will particularly miss. The collected feedback will help the IRO team to provide even more targeted support to future exchange students.
In another group activity, the students were able to share personal experiences. Each participant presented two true stories and one made-up story. The other participants then tried to figure out which story was not true. The format provided many entertaining moments and an opportunity to get to know each other even better.
ENJOYING TIME TOGETHER
Farewell Day offered a cozy atmosphere and invited everyone to come together. Various booths provided entertainment: at the souvenir booth, students could have tote bags signed by their fellow students to take home as a special souvenir.
There was also the opportunity to take souvenir photos with a special photo frame. At another stand, master's students answered questions for those interested in a master's program at the FH Kufstein Tirol. In the background, a photo show by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) showed the best moments of the semester. Last but not least, students were able to use a feedback box to provide individual and anonymous feedback.
The most amazing university ever because of professors, lecturers, community feeling! The reason why I chose to stay the next semester also! Place not only of education and mountains, but place with heart, passion, love and amazing time spent together!

Farewell Day was a nice way to end the semester and showed the importance of international exchange at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol. It is particularly pleasing that some exchange students have decided to continue their degree programs in Kufstein.
The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol is looking forward to welcoming students from all over the world again in the summer semester of 2025 – familiar faces as well as new ones.
