NEW BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAMS AT THE Kufstein University

The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol is further expanding its diverse range of bachelor's degree programs starting in the winter semester 2025/26. On the one hand, the lecturers at the FH Kufstein Tirol have developed the English-language degree program Drone Engineering & AI-based Innovation, which is offered in the full-time variant and is unique in Austria.

On the other hand, the business management degree program will be operating under the new name Leadership & Business Management starting in the next winter semester. Both bachelor's degree programs run for six semesters and include a mandatory semester abroad and an internship. “Our range of courses – for both bachelor's and master's degrees – is constantly growing and adapting to the current requirements of the labor market,” says Prof. (FH) Dr. Thomas Madritsch, CEO Managing Director of FH Kufstein Tirol. “We always strive not only to recognize current trends in business and research, but also to be pioneers in these areas – particularly in the fields of digitization, sustainability and artificial intelligence. This is reflected in our range of courses as well as in our curricula.”

Drone Engineering & AI-based Innovation*

The new bachelor's degree program in Drone Engineering & AI-based Innovation* provides comprehensive knowledge of drone technology and its applications. The focus is on drone design, propulsion systems, and electronic subsystems, based on the fundamentals of aviation and aerodynamics. Various software and programming modules enable students to control drones and autonomous unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

In addition, sensor technology and data analysis enable meaningful usage of the information obtained. Legal frameworks and security round off the curriculum. The language of instruction is English, other foreign languages, a semester abroad at one of 225 partner universities worldwide and an internship lasting several weeks help to develop intercultural skills / competencies. Management knowledge and entrepreneurial thinking also improve career opportunities in the global market.

Graduates of this degree program are technically adept, understand the ethical, legal and social aspects related to the use of drones, and are trained in critical thinking, problem solving and project management.

Leadership & Business Management

In the former degree program in Business Management, only the name will change to Leadership & Business Management from the winter semester 2025/26; the proven curriculum will remain in place. The program prepares students to successfully manage and/or found companies. The focus is on holistic entrepreneurial thinking, supported by business-related knowledge, practical projects and social skills.
