Learning outcomes of the courses/module

• Students understand the basics of creating 3D models
• Students can create individual parts and assemblies with Solidworks
• Students can use standard parts libraries
• Students will be able to optimise 3D models for rapid prototyping such as 3D printing, laser cutting
• Students can export, save 3D models for rapid prototyping e.g. for 3D printing, laser cutting

• Basics of creating 3D models
• Introduction of the CAD software Solidworks
• Possibilities for creating and editing individual parts
• Possibilities for creating and editing assemblies
• Design rules for additive manufacturing
• Exporting 3D models for 3D printing and laser cutting
