Learning outcomes of the courses/module

Students will learn about cost management and controlling approaches as functions of management in the application of basic business administration knowledge and skills, particularly in relation to SME’s, sports, culture, and events. Students will learn and be able to demonstrate: - project management skills, - the ability to perform cost and income statement analysis, - the application of planning and control systems, - direct costing and break-even analysis, - the ability to perform calculation of contribution margins, - common cost analysis and - the ability to identify and analyze appropriate key performance indicators. Students will be able to carry out the planning and budgeting for specific event concepts and to find the starting points for value-based controlling. They will be able to assess the resulting competitive advantages through efficient cost structures.

The course will build on the approaches to value-based controlling, utilizing: - Zero based budgeting - Performance measurement - Calculation of contribution margin The course will introduce: - The basics of budget planning - Classification in the planning process - Asses ment of company and project success - Actual vs. Target comparisons - Key performance indicators
