Fashion and beauty photographer Benjamin Kaufmann gave interesting insights into his error culture at the Management Forum Kufstein at the Kufstein University.

On May 22nd, fashion and beauty photographer Benjamin Kaufmann gave interesting insights into his error culture at the Kufstein University and called for more composure in dealing with mistakes. His clear conclusion: “Mistakes that I have made have taught me what I can do now.

Under the motto “The role of mistakes in the learning process and how experimentation can contribute to this”, interested people came to the “Festsaal” (Festivities Hall) of the FH Kufstein Tirol to take part in the Management Forum Kufstein. The lecture took place in hybrid form and was broadcast live on Instagram. Students from FH Kufstein Tirol actively supported the event with their expertise and provided regular updates to give interested followers insights into the evening before and during the forum.

VIEW ERROR CULTURE POSITIVELY

Benjamin Kaufmann, a renowned fashion and beauty photographer, imparted valuable knowledge in the area of error culture and experimentation. Kaufmann began with a comparison of mistakes in craftsmanship and mistakes in creative work. “Ideally, as few mistakes as possible should be made in craftsmanship, whereas mistakes are actually desirable in creative work in order to create special angles and unusual perspectives,” said Kaufmann. “Success can only be achieved through failure and it is essential to learn from mistakes rather than worry about them.” Kaufmann reflected on his own mistakes and emphasized the importance of forming an opinion early on. For example, he prefers feedback from critics rather than pure praise for his work, so that he can identify opportunities for improvement and provocative approaches in photography.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND PERFECTIONISM

Finally, he opened an extensive Q&A session with the audience. This included the topic of artificial intelligence. Kaufmann recommended focusing less on worries and instead approaching this topic with curiosity and composure. Finally, the speaker emphasized that, in his view, perfectionism should be seen as an ongoing process rather than an achievable goal.

The Management Forum Kufstein was initiated by the International Business Studies, Marketing & Communication Management and Business Management (new: Leadership & Business Management) degree programs and offers the opportunity to get to know exceptional characters in person. They talk about their lives and share their personal and professional experiences. The next event in this series is already in the starting blocks and will welcome Sebastian Hennig from myMerch on June 12, 2024 at 4:30 pm.
