Almost 300 alumni responded to the call of their former educational institution and came to the FH Kufstein Tirol campus for HomeComing.

HomeComing at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol is more than just a simple event for former students. It is a reunion of familiar faces, an opportunity to make new contacts, and a celebration of shared memories. More than anything, the festivities celebrate a lifelong bond among the university’s alumni.

A year has passed, and alumni of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol are once again flocking to campus to celebrate an unbreakable bond at the university’s annual HomeComing. On June 14, 2024, almost 300 alumni answered the call of their alma mater. The weather played along with blue skies and pleasant temperatures, transforming both the central hall and the adjacent park into one big lounge area. Guests could feast on regional delicacies from Grubers Catering in Angerberg, and refreshing drinks at the alumni bar supported the good mood. The university’s very own band created a chilled-out lounge feeling with its jazzy repertoire. Staff member and DJ Tobias Merz took over later in the evening, creating perfect party vibes with his knack for selecting the best tunes.

Some alumni of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol are committed to their alma mater far beyond the annual HomeComing. They actively support the university’s faculty and staff in the development of new projects, share their expertise as external lecturers, or provide insights into their professional activities as guest speakers. They are often able to recruit former fellow students for their businesses or inspire current students to do internships. This close connection between the university and its alumni helps to ensure that the transition from being a student to working life is just as seamless and familiar as studying itself.

Making connections and sharing memories

The university’s HomeComing is a moment of reunion and exchange. Prof. (FH) Dr. Thomas Madritsch, CEO Managing Director of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol, emphasized the importance of these festivities: "It is impressive to follow the professional development of our alumni and we are very happy to be part of their community." Added Shan Mahmood, an alum of the master’s program in International Business Studies (graduated 2014): "I thoroughly enjoyed attending the HomeComing 2024, especially as it marked the 10th anniversary of my graduation. It was impressive to witness the significant expansion of the university’s campus since my time here. Returning to Kufstein, a place filled with cherished memories, was truly special. I would like to express my gratitude to the HomeComing organizing team for consistently hosting such exceptional events. I look forward to staying connected through and participating in many such gatherings in the future." HomeComing at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol is a celebration of an unbreakable bond, fond memories, and a sense of community. Until next year, when the motto will once again be: Stay connected.
