Jan-Thomas Fischer works as an avalanche dynamics expert in applied avalanche research and university education. For him, the questions start where snow starts to move – in avalanches. In laboratory, field and computer experiments, he tries to understand the physics and processes behind the snow masses. For him, the ÖGSL brings together what belongs together: snow, mountains and the people who are fascinated by them.
