A visit to FERCAM in Kundl with Master's students from the International Business Studies programme.
In mid-November 2024, students of the International Business Studies Master's programme at Kufstein University of Applied Sciences visited FERCAM Austria GmbH in Kundl. The focus was on an intercultural workshop, strategic challenges and practical insights into the day-to-day work of the logistics company.
As part of the workshop Building Cultural Bridges Through Teamwork and Intercultural Sensitivity, students on the Master's programme in International Business Studies were given an insight into the diverse, international employee structure at FERCAM, a family-owned international transport and logistics company. The lecturers discussed how the company masters the challenges and opportunities of this diversity and generates added value for the organisation.
The students also discussed current strategic challenges in FERCAM's market environment with managers - including the CEO - and the resulting management solutions. Particular attention was paid to dealing with the shortage of skilled labour and the implementation of sustainable logistics solutions.
The direct dialogue with employees from various areas of the company gave the students a practical insight into everyday working life at FERCAM. This company visit offered valuable learning experiences and left a lasting impression.
