Three couples, one connection: the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol is not just a place for degree programs, but also for love.

Degree programs, love and a bit of dialect chaos – many couples have found each other at the Kufstein Uni. On Valentine's Day, three of them talk about how seminar acquaintances, shared experiences and a torchlight hike turned into real love stories.

At the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol, there are many paths to success – and sometimes also directly to the heart of a fellow student. Just in time for Valentine's Day, we spoke to three couples who met here during their degree programs and whose journey together leads not only through courses but also through life.

LEA & STEFAN – LOVE WITH VISION

October 2019, first semester in the master's program in Sports, Culture & Event Management – Lea (28) and Stefan (31) meet for the first time. At the beginning, their paths only crossed in study programs, but during a Cari Cari concert in Wörgl, it became clear that more could come of it. Five years later, they share not only numerous memories of mutual friendships and surviving exam periods, but also a passion for travel. A particularly romantic moment? Their sunrise hike up the Pendling mountain. “We're both not big romantics, but that was a moment we won't forget.” Their plan for the future: to discover the world – preferably together.

ELISABETH & JÖRG – A LOVE STORY BY TORCHLIGHT

The year is 2003: Elisabeth (41) and Jörg (44) start their degree program in sport, culture & event management and quickly find themselves in the same clique. It doesn't take long for friendship to turn into love. Their first date is vaguely remembered, but the legendary torchlight hike through Kufstein, which their fellow students spontaneously organized after their engagement in the second year of study, remains unforgettable: “It was a great evening and a party until the early morning.” After exams, semesters abroad and even a long-distance relationship for professional reasons, one thing is certain: this relationship can withstand any challenge. Today, they enjoy family life with their two children (13 and 15) and look forward to traveling together – and to the occasional little break for two in a bar in Kufstein.

TERESA & PETER – FROM SKIING TRIP TO HAPPY FAMILY

Teresa (33) and Peter (33) started their master's degree in Sports, Culture & Event Management in the winter semester of 2016. At first, they only had sporadic contact with each other, but after the first semester break – at the beginning of 2017 – they became closer. Their first official date? A day of skiing in the Axamer Lizum near Innsbruck. Not everything went smoothly from the start: Peter initially had some difficulties with Teresa's South Tyrolean dialect. But once they started to understand each other better – both linguistically and emotionally – it was clear: something special is developing here. Eight years later, they are still happy and can look back on many shared experiences. What are their plans for the future? More trips, bike tours and cross-country skiing adventures together – and, of course, to continue being a happy family.

Whether big gestures or small shared moments – the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol was more than just an educational institution for these three couples. Perhaps Cupid is actually a quiet fellow student who often shoots arrows here. Who knows what love stories are currently unfolding on campus?
