Prof. (FH) Dr. Martin Adam from Kufstein University discusses important elements of their store floor management with managers from Gronbach.
Gronbach has reviewed its store floor management (SFM) with the Kufstein University. Important production data was assessed together with the managers and recommendations for action were developed.
Under the guidance of Prof. (FH) Dr. Martin Adam and Guido von Rohr, the Gronbach company, together with the Kufstein University, subjected its store floor management to an assessment. Among other things, the goals, organization, agenda, key figures and visualization of the production data of the existing SFM were assessed together with the managers, best practice examples were discussed and recommendations for action were developed.
OPTIMIZE PRODUCTION PROCESSES
Gronbach develops and manufactures complex assemblies and complete appliances for well-known brands in the household appliance and catering industries at its site in Niederndorf, Tyrol. In order to meet the high quality standards, efficient processes and the continuous improvement of production processes are a matter of course. This requires making what is happening in production, on the store floor, visible to everyone involved, being able to exchange important information quickly and involving employees in decisions and improvements. The basis for this is a functioning store floor management system.
THE RESULTS OF THE ASSESSMENT
Together, they developed the derivation of operational key figures for production from the strategic objectives. The intention was to promote a common direction for the company. Further impulses concerned the clear separation between meetings for the daily transfer of information and meetings for the development of continuous improvement processes (CIP). In the CIP meetings, the focus is increasingly on finding the causes of problems that arise instead of quickly opting for superficial solutions.
