The students' project team at the successful presentations of their results with the client InfraServ Gendorf and the consulting company Ascendo.

The client of an exciting practical project - InfraServ Gendorf, the operator of Bavaria's largest chemical park - offers comprehensive services for the chemical and process industry.

With 1,100 employees, InfraServ Gendorf operates the largest chemical park in Bavaria and also offers networked solutions for the central tasks of companies in the chemical and process industry. This includes comprehensive site services for infrastructure, safety, environment, logistics, supply and disposal as well as innovative industrial services such as planning, construction and maintenance of plants. InfraServ Gendorf's portfolio is rounded off by customized IT services tailored to the industrial environment and training courses offered at its own training academy.

As part of a practical project commissioned by InfraServ Gendorf and in cooperation with the consulting company Ascendo, students developed a comprehensive safety concept. The practical project was carried out by students in the fourth semester of the Industrial Engineering & Management degree program at the Kufstein University. The four students Chiara Doff-Sotta, Bastian Ortner, Florian Siebler and Moritz Hämmerl developed a concept that covered the areas of access control and traffic management.

PLANT SAFETY FOR CHEMICAL PARK

The aim was to improve traffic management and optimize access to the plant site. To achieve this, the team developed theoretical concepts and innovative ideas in conjunction with new technologies. Various systems for traffic analysis, vehicle classification and safe traffic routing were proposed. A final basic concept with possible extensions was developed that meets the safety requirements of the chemical park.

SATISFACTION & FOLLOW-UP PROJECT

The project team presented the proposals and assessed them together with those responsible at InfraServ Gendorf as part of a final workshop. The client InfraServ Gendorf and the project facilitator Ascendo were very satisfied with the results and there will be at least one follow-up project for the students of the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences based on this completed project.
