The practical project by students on the MBA Social Work degree program offers innovative added value for people in need of care in the Kufstein, Thiersee and Schwoich area.
A group of students from the MBA Social Work degree program at Kufstein University have worked with local stakeholders to develop a visionary project that fundamentally rethinks conventional housing concepts for people in need of care.
The starting point was the desire to develop a form of housing for people in need of care in Kufstein, Thiersee and Schwoich that offers a familiar environment and at the same time effectively combines the synergies of regional mobile care and 24-hour supervision. Under the motto In Gemeinschaft dahoam, this initiative is intended to offer people in need of care more than just accommodation - it is intended to provide care where people really feel at home and at the same time can be part of a lively community. The project group received expert guidance and support from the Kufstein, Thiersee and Schwoich social and health care district, the KUUSK volunteer center and Curatio GmbH. Traditional care facilities often face challenges in terms of providing personalized care and creating a family atmosphere. Accordingly, a family-like living environment, a sense of community and resource-friendly supervision are at the heart of this innovative living concept.
RESIDENTIAL UNITS INDIVIDUALLY TAILORED TO THE RESIDENT
Support is provided, for example, by Smart Home Assistance, a 24-hour supervisor who is available around the clock. The specialist care services are individually tailored to the resident and are only used when they are really needed. The person in need of care is in direct contact with a network of different professions. “The initiative aims to strengthen the sense of community by implementing it in a natural environment. Residents of all ages can come together to enjoy activities, share experiences and support each other,” said project manager Andrea Standl. “This not only creates a stable social bond, which is often neglected in old age, but also contributes to mental and emotional health.”
The concept emphasizes a sustainable and resource-conserving approach. Optional service packages and efficient personnel planning ensure that costs are used efficiently and high quality is guaranteed. All those involved are firmly convinced that this innovative living concept can make a positive contribution to improving the quality of life of people in need of care.
