At the open house, interested parties were able to find out about the degree programs at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol directly on site.
A big crowd at the open day at the Kufstein University: at the end of November, around 350 visitors flocked to the campus. Here are all the highlights and the best pictures.
Saturday, November 30th, 9:30 a.m. – The scene is the Kufstein Uni campus. Although there are still 30 minutes to go before the official start of the open house, there is already a lot of activity in the auditorium. You can see many young, hopeful, curious faces. You can feel the excitement in the air.
For many, it is their first time in a university environment. Some are accompanied by friends, parents or family. They all want to be there – and they will all get their money's worth.
A DIVERSE PROGRAM: WHERE TO GO FIRST?
Ten o'clock. Where to first? There is no shortage of choice. A virtual 3D flight with Ikarus is particularly enticing. Or a detour to one of the labs? In keeping with the season, the Makers Lab is printing the logo of the higher education institution with chocolate on a butter biscuit. Of course, a campus tour would also be tempting – a little of everything, so to speak. However, most of them decide to attend the lecture 'Studying at the Kufstein Uni'. The chocolate will have to wait.
In the packed lecture room at the University of Applied Sciences, Lena Streli, Head of Events at the University of Kufstein, skillfully tells of the university's degree programs, accommodation, food – and not least of all, stays abroad. The presentation whets the appetite for more.
A tour full of highlights
But now the campus tour. Many head purposefully for the stand where they are met by three students. One of them guides those waiting. They head up the stairs. The point at which we stop provides a direct view down into the auditorium. There, right in the middle, Icarus is whirling. He is surrounded by several stands. 28 degree courses present themselves - course directors and students are on hand to answer questions. They won't be bored today.
The tour continues to kubi – the library for science and leisure housed in the FH. Here you will find everything your heart desires, from fiction to children's books and specialist literature. But not only books are available: you can also borrow board games here, for example. What makes it special is that it is not only the FH library, but also the Kufstein municipal library.
On the upper floor of the library, comfortable wing chairs invite you to linger and read. But there is no time for that right now, the group is moving again. Up the stairs, past the labs. The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol currently has nine of these: each one is geared towards a specific area, such as the Automation Lab.
TECHNOLOGY AND PLEASURE: CHOCOLATE FROM THE MAKERS LAB
The roof terrace is a highlight. A few ohs and ahs can be heard from the group. No wonder – Kufstein Fortress is right in front of visitors. The tour ends in the Makers Lab, where the university's logo is printed on a biscuit using chocolate.
But even after that, there is no shortage of worthwhile new destinations: course presentations, taster lectures and workshops inspire the guests. The team from the International Relations Office (IRO) was available to answer any questions anyone interested might have about studying abroad. Last but not least, the Master Lounge offered the opportunity to find out more about the degree program of your choice in a personal conversation and to ask specific questions about the Master's program. All in all, it was a successful day for everyone who wanted to get a taste of the University of Applied Sciences - and whets the appetite for the next open house, which will take place on Saturday, February 1st from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
