In November, participants on the part-time General Management MBA Focus Automotive course at the International Business School visited the KISKA design studio, one of Europe's leading product and communication designers.

The excursion offered not only the course participants but also the management of the International Business School exclusive insights into the KISKA design studios. At the foot of the Unterberg in Salzburg, the owner and founder, Gerald Kiska, gave the group a tour of the company. With almost 300 designers and brand experts, KISKA is one of the hidden champions of the Austrian corporate landscape. Leading global mobility brands such as KTM, Husqvarna, Audi and GasGas rely on KISKA's expertise not only to create products that are perfectly in tune with the zeitgeist of the coming years, but also to achieve victories on the world's racetracks. “KISKA simultaneously designs a complete brand world around these products, which impressively illustrated the important topic of customer loyalty for our learners,” said Prof. (FH) Dr. Kristina Kampfer, Scientific Director of the Automotive Programs.

ACADEMIC TRAINING WITH PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Prof. (FH) Dr. Thomas Madritsch, CEO Managing Director of Kufstein University, took the opportunity for a personal exchange with Gerald Kiska. Both expressly pointed out the important combination of professional experience and academic training. “All automotive courses at the International Business School aim to combine the professional experience of our participants with academic knowledge and practical examples in order to provide a 360-degree view of this industry in the midst of transformation,” emphasized Madritsch. The visit to KISKA showed very clearly how much creative and commercial potential there is in the mobility industry and what a major contribution Austrian companies are making to it. The International Business School at the University of Applied Sciences in Kufstein is currently offering a two-semester part-time certificate course that provides participants with the basic knowledge they need to successfully take on management tasks in the automotive sector.

In a concluding discussion, Gerald Kiska presented the current model of the KTM X-BOW, the X-BOW GT-XR 2023, to those present - an ultimate performance car that brings the findings of the race track directly onto the road.
