Students from the UAS Kufstein organized the second edition of the ÖH Castle Cup 2025. Held at Sporthalle Niederndorf, the indoor football tournament featured 8 teams with prizes for all participants.

On February 1st, 2025, the second edition of the ÖH Castle Cup took place, marking the first time it was organized by the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein. The indoor football tournament was organized by 5 students from the full-time Master’s degree program Sports, Culture, & Event Management and open to public. Held at the Sporthalle Niederndorf, the event kicked off at 10 a.m., featuring 8 teams, consisting of 6 to 8 players each, competing in a 5 vs. 5 format.

More than a game: perks and prizes for every team

Each team received jerseys in a unique color for their games, showcasing the event’s sponsors. Additionally, every participant from the 8 teams was awarded an ÖH Castle Cup wooden medal as a token of appreciation. The winning team, FC Feierabend, received in addition a 3D-printed trophy, crafted at the Makers Lab at University of Applied Sciences Kufstein, as a lasting symbol of their victory.

Spectators enjoyed side events, suprises and excitement

Spectators watched exciting games while also having the chance to win prizes. During two breaks in the games, a dribbling slalom and a penalty shootout were organized, allowing the public to get involved and win some ÖH goodies, among other prizes. The cafeteria offered a variety of food and drinks, from sandwiches to cakes, and spectators were invited to make donations. To top it off, both spectators and players enjoyed music from DJ Lukas Embacher.

A successful event of football and enthusiasm

The project was a great success, attracting many participants and spectators. The event’s positive atmosphere and smooth organization sparked interest among students, who are eager to take on the responsibility of organizing future editions.
