The selection of Austrian wines. A pleasure for the participants.

In a convivial and relaxed atmosphere, 30 wine lovers enjoyed a wine tasting organized by students at FH Kufstein Tirol. Under the motto: Experience the diversity of Austria from the wine glass, the participants were able to rediscover the flavors of the local wine culture.

On January 16, 2025, students from the part-time Master's degree course in Sport, Culture & Event Management at FH Kufstein Tirol hosted a wine tasting as part of a practical project. Interested people of all ages were able to take part in this evening and indulge their palates.

In the Andreas Hofer Lounge in Kufstein, the evening began for the participants with a refreshing aperitif and delicious snacks. The focus of the event was on local wines and regional products, which were presented to the guests in an atmospheric setting. In keeping with this, the buffet also consisted of carefully selected regional specialties.

After a comfortable arrival, the guests were warmly welcomed by the practical project team before immersing themselves in the world of local wines.

WINE TASTING WITH PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

Selected wines were tasted and compared in terms of flavor. Matthias Breitsameter, a project supervisor and wine expert, personally guided the guests through the evening. The white wines were from indigenous grape varieties, i.e. varieties that originated in Austria and have been closely associated with the local wine culture for centuries. Roter Veltliner and Grüner Veltliner were compared directly. The selection was complemented by the white wines Neuburger, Sylvaner and Rotgipfler. For the reds, Matthias Breitsameter chose the local varieties St. Laurent and Blaufränkisch. He explained the special features of autochthonous grape varieties and gave exciting insights into the history and origin of the wines.

CULINARY PLEASURES AND A PHOTO BOOTH FULL OF FUN

Highlight of the evening was a taste experiment with lemons and sugar, which took place parallel to the wine tasting. The guests took on the challenge of awakening their senses in an unusual way with curious anticipation and were amazed at the surprising flavors that emerged. The evening was an incomparable experience, with a mix of expert knowledge, humorous anecdotes and lively discussions.

After about an hour and a half of wine tasting, a three-course buffet with regional dishes rounded off the culinary side of the event. A photo booth equipped with fun accessories offered guests the opportunity to capture funny moments.

„THE EVENT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND I WOULD BE HAPPY TO TAKE PART IN THE NEXT ONE."

A participant said about the event

SUCCESS FOR ALL SENSES

The event not only offered an opportunity to discover special Austrian wines, but also to experience the appreciation of regional products and their quality.

Afterwards, the guests received a goody bag from the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol, filled with carefully selected Tyrolean products. These included an elegant Swarovski wine glass and other products from the sponsors, such as fine Berger chocolate, refreshing Darbo lemon syrup, hearty bread from the Brotschmiede and practical writing utensils from the Sparkasse, the main sponsor of the event.

The guests praised the successful organization and emphasized how much they enjoyed the wine tasting. The combination of enjoyment and knowledge was particularly appreciated, and the appropriate price-performance ratio was emphasized several times.

The enthusiasm and consistently positive feedback revealed that the evening will be unforgettable.
